The History of Baxter War Memorial

Baxter United Reform Church

Baxter United Reform Church has a Great War, Wall Memorial and window.

The Wall Memorial Plaque was dedicated in early 1920s it was placed on the wall facing the entrance of the church by the pulpit.   It is a pink veined white marble tablet with flat pediment. It has a white chequered border with mother of pearl at each corner around the names.

Measurements: Height 820mm, width 1100mm.

The inscription is in Black. Lettering is in red.

Mr P Adams yesterday unveiled at Baxters Historic Church, Kidderminster two Memorial Windows and a Memorial tablet. The first window given by the family, was in memory of William Adams, for twenty two year was deacon of the church who died in 1898. The second window was given by Mr and Mrs P Adams in memory of their son Lieutenant P Adams who was killed in Flanders.

The tablet was to the thirty four men of the church and school who fell in the war. An Address was given by Rev E. D. Braimbridge
