Roll of Honour for the Dead

The Roll of Honour for the Dead which is a Plain White Scroll, with Black lettering, mounted in black frame, is sited on a wall by door, at rear of St John’s Church.

Heading reads:

“ROLL OF HONOUR FOR THE DEAD

GRANT THEM O LORD ETERNAL REST AND

LET LIGHT PERPETUAL SHINE UPON THEM”

1914 – 1918

MAMBLE cum BAYTON”

The names 14 Casualties are in chronological order of death (but dates not given).

“Mamble cum Bayton” list refers to the common links of between both Parishes.

Bayton Church was a Chapel at ease to the Mamble Church.
