The History of Baxter War Window Memorial to Lieutenant P Adams

Baxter United Reform Church Bull Ring, Kidderminster

The Memorial Window to Peter Adams is in Baxter United Reform Church in the Bull Ring in Kidderminster

It is on right hand wall. It has three-light stained-glass window with figures of angels holding banners in the left and right-hand lights; and a sword carrying soldier with nimbus in the central light    There is a dedicatory inscription at the base of the central light.

Killed in Action near Hooge in Flanders

31st July 1917 in his 24th year

Peter Adams was the son of Peter and Isabella Neilson Adam who lived at Cairndhu Kidderminster.  He was awarded the Military Cross.

Mr P Adams yesterday unveiled at Baxters Historic Church, Kidderminster two Memorial Windows and a Memorial tablet. The first window given by the family, was in memory of William Adams, for twenty two year was deacon of the church who died in 1898. The second window was given by Mr and Mrs P Adams in memory of their son Lieutenant P Adams who was killed in Flanders.

The tablet was to the thirty four men of the church and school who fell in the war. An Address was given by Rev E. D. Braimbridge
